JAMB REJECTS NABTEB A LEVEL AS ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR 2022 DE ADMISSION

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has rejected the National Business and Technical Examinations Board( NABTEB) advanced level as an entry requirement for Direct Entry into tertiary institutions. The Board said the directive became necessary following the discovery that relevant government policies on A/ Level programmes do not permit NABTEB from conducting Advanced Level examinations.

JAMB TO REFUND 4,000 TO 2021 CANDIDATES WHO FAILED TO COMPLETE REGISTRATION

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board on Monday stated that it would refund N4,000 deposit paid by candidates who failed to complete the registration process for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and the Direct Entry Examinations.

The board made this known in its latest bulletin made available to The PUNCH on Monday by the board’s director of media and public relations, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.

The bulletin partly reads, “This is to notify all 2021 candidates who had deposited a draft of four thousand naira (N4,000) for late registration for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and Direct Entry but were unable to complete the registration process owing to no fault of the Board, even after the Board had extended the registration period twice, to visit the Board’s Website https://www.jamb.gov.ng, and complete a form for the refund of the value of the draft they submitted to the Board.

“The above candidates are to click on the link 2021 UTME/DE Unregistered Candidates Bank Draft Recapture and fill the spaces after which they would key in the token sent to the phone numbers they had submitted during the submission of their drafts.

“It is this token that would be used to access a form on which they will fill in their account details for the refund of the value of the draft. Candidates are to provide these details within the next two weeks from the date of this publication

“A text message containing OTP (one-time-password) has been sent to the affected candidates besides this notification.”

UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN,[UI] RELEASES APPROVED ACADEMIC CALENDER FOR THE 2021/2022 ACADEMIC SESSION

LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY, [LASU] RELEASES MERIT ADMISSION LIST II FOR THE 2021/2022 ACADEMIC SESSION (REGULAR & STREAM 2)

The management of the Lagos State University (LASU) has released regular /Special Programme(Stream 2) merit admission list (II) for the 2021/2022 academic session.

Candidates that participated in the online admission screening exercise for both regular & Special Programme(Stream 2) can now check their admission status.

OSUN STATE UNIVERSITY, [UNIOSUN] RELEASES 2021/2022 SUPPLEMENTARY II ADMISSION LIST

The supplementary UTME list of 2021/2022 Admission exercise into various degree programmes have been released. Prospective candidates who participated in the Admission screening exercise can check their admission status via the Undergraduate Admissions portal.

All admitted candidates are hereby directed to pay the sum of forty thousand naira (N40, 000.00) only as Acceptance Fees for the Provisional Admission offered.

Payment of the Acceptance Fees is by the UNIOSUN WebPAY platform through the use of Interswitch enabled Debit/ATM cards (Verve, Visa and Master cards). The deadline for the payment of Acceptance Fees is February 4, 2022

Any candidate who fails to complete the Acceptance and other necessary registration on the portal on or before the deadline will FORFEIT the Provisional Admission offered.

FEDERAL UNIVERSITY LOKOJA, [FULOKOJA] RELEASES 2021 ADMISSION LIST OUT ON SCHOOL PORTAL

The Management of the Federal university LOKOJA has released the Admission list for the 2021/22 Academic Session.

This was inferred as the Institution directed the Freshmen to proceed with the Registration so as to be cleared as a bonafide student of the varsity.

The authorities made this known in the Registration guidelines rolled out yesterday on the school portal for the freshmen.

Applicants who have successfully accepted their Admission offer on jamb caps are Instructed to visit the Institution website to accept the Admission offer.

Further details on how to accept the Admission offer, documents required for clearance and the procedures rolled out had been explictly discussed in the next paragraph.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES AND GUIDELINES, DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR CLEARANCE

This is to inform all newly Admitted Students that the University portal would be opened for the 2021/2022 Registration Exercise from Monday, January 24, 2022, while lectures for the 100 Level fresh students would begin on Monday, February 7, 2022.

To be eligible for clearance as an admitted candidate, the following conditions must be met:

  • Your admission must have been approved on the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
  • You must have accepted the offer of admission as approved by JAMB.

Carefully read the guidelines outlined below before commencing the process:

REGISTRATION GUIDELINES

STEP 1: ACCEPTANCE OF OFFER

  • Visit the University website (fulokoja.edu.ng) and click on Admissions – Undergraduate – Post-UTME, then login with your JAMB Registration Number to confirm your admission status.
  • Once successful, click on Pay Acceptance Charges, to generate payment invoice with RRR.
  • Pay acceptance charge of N20,000.00 using REMITA services (card or bank payment):

For Card Payment: Visit remita.net, Click on “Bills and Purchases – Pay RRR Invoice”, then enter your generated RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference), and process your payment with relevant card details.

For Bank Payment: Visit any bank of your choice that offers REMITA services and pay using the generated RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) on your invoice.

  • Return to the University website and click on Admissions – Undergraduate – Post-UTME Portal, to confirm your payment.
  • You will be provided a school email address, which would be the official means of communication.
  • Print your Admission Letter and Letter of Undertaking.

STEP 2: O’LEVEL RESULT VERIFICATION

  • Return to the University website and click on Admissions – Undergraduate – Post-UTME Portal – Submit O’level, to supply your O’level examination and scratch card details.
  • Please note that failure to upload the correct O’level examination details and a valid and usable examination scratch card will lead to automatic disqualification of admission.
  • Check your university email or the Post-UTME Portal for confirmation to proceed with your registration. Once successful, proceed to step 3.

STEP 3: PAYMENT OF SCHOOL CHARGES

  • Visit the University website and click on Student – Undergraduate – Student Portal, and login with your JAMB Registration Number.
  • Generate and print Payment Invoice for School Charges.
  • Pay your School Charges as stated on the generated payment invoice using REMITA services (card or bank payment):

For Card Payment: Visit remita.net, Click on “Bills and Purchases – Pay RRR Invoice”, then enter your generated RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference), and process your payment with relevant card details

– For Bank Payment: Visit any bank of your choice that offers REMITA services and pay using your generated RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) on your invoice.

  • Return to the University website and click on Student – Undergraduate – Student Portal to confirm your payment.
  • After confirmation of payment, print out your School Charges receipt.
  • Proceed to printout the complete online STUDENT BIO-DATA FORM (Form 01).
  • NOTE: You are advised to keep all printed documents as you will be required to submit them when you resume.

STEP 4: TO BE CARRIED OUT ON RESUMPTION – (MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2022)

Medical Certificate of Fitness

  • Visit the University Health Services Centre to conduct your medical fitness test.

COURSE REGISTRATION

  • Visit the University website and click on Student – Undergraduate – Student Portal – Course Registration, to complete your Course Registration online.
  • Check your Student Portal – Printout – Course Form for the status of your course registration.

CLEARANCE SECTION

STEP 5: CLEARANCE

The University runs 2 (two) campuses, Adankolo Campus and Felele Campus (Permanent Site). The Faculty of Science is located at the Adankolo Campus while the Faculties of Arts, Education, Management Sciences and Social Sciences are located at the Felele Campus.Visit your Department and submit the documents listed below to your Departmental Administrative Officer:

  • Acceptance Fee E-Payment Receipt
  • A copy of the Online School Charges Receipt
  • Federal University Lokoja Admission Letter
  • Form 01 (STUDENT BIO-DATA FORM) online printout
  • JAMB Result Slip (online print out) – for UTME Candidates
  • JAMB Admission Letter (Duplicate for Institution use only)
  • Record from previous Institution (Statement of Result/Certificate) – for DE Candidates
  • O’level Result(s) (Online Print-out)
  • Signed Letter of Undertaking (original copy)
  • Certificate of Local Government of Origin (If Non-Nigerian, Residence Permit)
  • Birth Certificate/Declaration of Age
  • Ten (10) recent Passport Photograph with red background
  • Medical Certificate of Fitness from the University Health Services Centre only
  • Completed Course Registration Forms printed from the University portal.
  • Failure to present the above documents will lead to withdrawal of offer of admission.

LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY, [LASU] LAWS STUDENTS EMERGE WINNERS OF THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW ADVOCATE CONTEST

Sina Akinmusire, a 500 level law student, and Titilope Ibrahim, a 300 level law student of the Lagos State University have emerged winners at the Intellectual Property Law Advocate Contest held at the University of Ilorin on the 12th of January, 2022.

According to reports, the I.P Advocate Contest featured two stages. The first stage was an essay competition on “Re-Directing Nigeria’s IP Enforcement Policy to Curb Counterfeit Food Distribution”. After the round, five teams from higher institutions across the nation emerged as finalists.

At the finals, teams presented blueprints on the intersection between Food, Drug and Intellectual Property at the end of which Sina Akinmusire and Titilope Ibrahim of LASU were announced as winners. The competition was sponsored by SPA Ajibade & Co., Pavestones and other notable law firms.

While receiving the students at her office on Tuesday, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, expressed her happiness at the students’ performance. “On behalf of the university management, I congratulate you for coming first in the competition and doing us proud. Well done”, she said. She went on to announce a cash gift of fifty thousand naira only (N50,000) to each of the students in line with her promise to encourage highflyers in the university.

The students were accompanied on the presentation by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Gbadebo Olagunju; immediate-past Dean, Prof. F.A.R Adeleke and another member of the Faculty, Dr. Rufus Olaoluwa.
