IAUE NOTICE TO POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS ON SCHOOL FEES PAYMENT

Armed with the reality that most families are unable to cope with the current economic hardship in the country, the Acting Vice- Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Professor Okechuku Onuchuku has directed that postgraduate students revert to the old school fees rate.

By this notice all postgraduate students are to pay the old school fees rate. Those who can not pay once can pay in two instalments in each semester. The Bursary Department has also been directed to accommodate this flexible mode of school fees payment by postgraduate students by ensuring the university portal twice semester by semester so that students can pay in two instalments.

Postgraduate students are therefore advised to take advantage of the window of opportunity provided for the payment of their school fees.

PTI EXTENDS DEADLINE FOR 2021 UTME CANDIDATES TO UPLOAD O’LEVEL RESULTS ON JAMB CAPS

This is to inform all prospective students of the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, specifically the 2021/2022 Post-UTME candidates, that those that did not choose Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun as their first choice of institution and scored 120 and above, are advised to change their first choice to PTI to stand a better chance of being admitted.  

Furthermore, it is very important that all candidates should upload their O’level results on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) at the latest Wednesday, 1st December 2021, 

particularly those who have done the Post-UTME screening. 

Concerned students, Parents and Guardians are to take note and take advantage of the extension.

Considering the limited facilities available to us for these exams, we are not able to predict exactly when each batch will be called in. Wetherefore strongly advice that you stay around the exam venue so you DO NOT miss your batch.
For each of the days you will sit for any of these examinations, you will be identified with COLOUR PRINT-OUT OF YOUR SEMESTER COURSE REGISTRATION SLIP.
DO NOT come to the exam venue with any of the following: Bag, Face-cap, Wrist-watch, Phone [or similar devices], and Wallet.

UNIBEN Graduates 125 First Class At Combined Convocation

A total of 125 students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), on Saturday, graduated with First Class at the 46th and 47th combined convocation ceremony.

Vice-Chancellor of UNIBEN, Professor Lilian Salami, in her welcome address, also disclosed that a total of 2,794 got second class upper division while those awarded Honorary doctorate degrees include; General Theophilus Danjuma, a former Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Oyegun, Dr Thomas Ilube, Oluwakemi Pinheiro and Natalia Kanem.

Salami told the gathering that 8,996 graduates have earned the university’s first degrees or certificates in the 2018/2019 academic session, while 8,521 graduated in the 2019/2020 academic session.

Chancellor of the University who is the Paramount and Traditional ruler of the Tiv nation of Benue State, His Royal Majesty, Orchivirigh Professor James Ayatse, commended President Muhammadu Buhari, Visitor to the University for the prevailing industrial harmony in Nigeria Universities.

He called on all hands to remain on deck in order to sustain the momentum.

He acknowledged the milestones in industrial peace achieved in the tertiary institutions, which the monarch said is occasioned by the various agreements reached with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the modest fulfilment of same.



Recognizing that ASUU’s demands for improved infrastructure have not been fully met, HRM maintained that the fact that the government is listening and willing to do its utmost within the limits of available resources speaks volumes about the President’s commitment to the progress of the education sector in the country.

Also speaking at the convocation ceremony, Pro-Chancellor, and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Benin, Olo’ogun Dr Sonny Kuku, expressed appreciation to President Buhari for his untiring efforts to reposition the education sector for the progress of the country.

In particular, the Pro-Chancellor listed projects in the university being undertaken by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) to include; the Professorial Building, Hostel for International students, Laboratory for Urology Department, Faculty of Agriculture Complex, Centre of excellence in Aquaculture and Food Technology Building, Research and Innovation Hub, and two student’s hostels among others.

These projects, the Pro-Chancellor said, are clear manifestations of the special attention the Federal Government accords the University of Benin in particular and tertiary education in general.

In his keynote address, Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, revealed that his administration is in the process of coming up with a 30-year development plan that will cater for all sectors especially education.

KWARA STATE UNIVERSITY, [KWASU] ANNOUNCES RESUMPTION DATE, RELEASES 2021/2022 HARMATTAN SEMESTER LECTURES TIME-TABLE

The Management of Kwara State University, Malete has announced the resumption date for the Harmattan Semester of the 2021/2022 Session. The tentative date for resumption is December 6th, 2021.

WAEC RELEASES 2021 SSCE RESULTS

The West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) has released the result of the 2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)





Mr Patrick Areghan, Head of the Nigeria National Office of the Council who disclosed this on Monday, said a total of 80.56 per cent have been fully processed, and 19.44 per cent still being processed due to some issues being resolved.

Areghan said One Million, Five Hundred and Seventy-Three Thousand, Eight Hundred and Forty-Nine (1,573,849) candidates registered for the examination and 1,560,261 candidates sat the examination.

“The examination, which was an international one, took place simultaneously throughout the five-member countries of the Council – The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone, using the same International Timetable.

The examination spanned seven weeks, between August 16 and October 8, 2021. Throughout the period, we were faced with serious security challenges in the South East (IPOB and ESN sit-at-home order) and banditry, kidnapping, insurgency, etc, in the north and other parts of the country. All these, coupled with the continuous effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic, made the whole exercise a Herculean one.”

NECO RELEASES 2021 SSCE RESULTS FOR KANO STUDENTS

The National Examination Council (NECO) has released the examination results for Kano State candidates after the state ministry of education through the state government secured funds for payment of the outstanding examination fees, owed by the state government.

The state Commissioner for Education, Malam Muhammad Sanusi Sa’id Kiru, noted that the release of the result will enable the students to secure admissions in tertiary institutions of their choice.

While urging the students to use the registration scratch cards in accessing and printing out their examination results, he further appealed to the general public to inculcate the habit of appreciating the government, considering the competing demands on the limited resources at its disposal.

The commissioner, therefore, commended the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Murtala Sule Garo, and all the Chairmen of the 44 local government councils for their support in this direction.

He, however, reiterated the determination of the Kano State government to continue to support the education sector.

160 STUDENTS BAG FIRST CLASS IN FUTA

Not fewer than 160 students at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, have completed their various programmes in the university with first class honours.

According to the institution, the first class students are among the 5,114 students that would be conferred with first degree in the nine faculties at the forthcoming convocation of the institution.

FUTA Vice Chancellor, Prof Joseph Fuwape, disclosed these to journalists on Friday while speaking on the 32nd convocation and 40th anniversary of the institution.

Represented by the Chairman of the convocation and Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof Philip Oguntunde, the vice chancellor said, “Out of the 5,114 graduands, 3,205 are in the undergraduate category while 1,909 are in the postgraduate category.

Out of the total number, 160 students have first class, 1,334 have second class honours (upper division), 1,483 students have second class honours (lower division) while 222 and six students are graduating with third class and pass respectively.”

The vice chancellor added that Miss Taiwo Oluyale, a student of the Department of Building is the best graduating student with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.89.
